To the family and friends of Delores, Stephanie, Felecia and Peggy, our beloved daughter and sister, Vanessa M. Fleming, 61, of Frederick, departed this life Friday, July 14, 2017 at her sister's home surrounded by her family.
Born November 23, 1955 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Delores (McAbee) Brown of Frederick and the late Harold M. Brown, Sr.
A 1973 graduate of Frederick High School, she received a diploma in Computer Science from the Computer Learning Center in Fairfax, VA.
Vanessa worked as a Grants Management Specialist with the Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA) under the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) since 2010. She was a former employee of Ridgewell Catering and the Marriott Corporation.
She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, attending and supporting her nieces and nephew’s sporting activities, as well as spending her Sunday afternoons with family and friends as an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan. Vanessa had a passion for visiting the sick and shut-ins to help others. She was a member of Hopehill United Methodist Church, where she was active in the choir and a member of the United Methodist Women. Of all things she enjoyed doing, Vanessa took great pride in her automobiles with personalized tags (SAGG and SMUTH).
