Hilda Offutt

Mrs. Hilda Marie Offutt, 94 of Adamstown, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Buckingham's Choice.  She was the loving wife of W. Jerome Offutt.

Born March 24, 1921 in New York she was the daughter of the late John Nelson and Lillian Mae (Brown) La Tourette.

Mrs. Offutt was a very generous and giving person. She often gave to her favorite charities that were close to her heart... Friends of Catholic Education, ASPCA, Mayo Clinic and St. Jude's. She loved her home and enjoyed hosting dinner parties and collecting antiques over the years. Hilda enjoyed shopping at Talbots and having her hair and nails done at Avenue West. In earlier years, she loved to fish and ride horses. Most importantly, Hilda loved her animals, especially her dogs, Benji, Chelsea and Daisy.

In addition to her husband, Hilda is survived by four step-children, Paul J. Offutt and wife, Kathy, of Clermont, FL; Thomas F. Offutt and wife, Carol, of Palm Harbor, FL; Grace O. Williams and husband, Frank, of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; and William J. Offutt, Jr. of Walkersville; and many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered by many friends at Buckingham's Choice, including her special friends, Peggy and Norma.

Hilda was preceded in death by two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 31 at St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, with Rev. Lawrence Frazier officiating.

Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
