Connie Brown

Connie Brown, 78, of New Market, MD passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of Jim Brown for 57 years.

Born March 29, 1939 in Syracuse, NY,  she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Dorothy Grace Wadsworth Boysen.

Connie attended Westminster University in New Wilmington, PA for three years. She married Jim in 1960 and had four children. She was a stay-at-home mother for 18 years and then worked for Montgomery County Public Schools for 20 years. She retired in June, 2000. She spent her retirement traveling with her husband and family: cruising to the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Canada, visiting good friends in Phoenix, and gambling away pennies in Las Vegas. She was an avid cook who loved experimenting with new recipes. She loved bookstores and read dozens of books. She had a passion for rescuing Golden Retrievers and adopted two after her retirement.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: James William and his wife Jennifer; Cynthia Joanne and her husband Joey Benoit; and Amy Beth and her husband Frank Weaver. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Kevin, Eric, Kate, Grace, Lily, Frankie, Brandon, and Haley. She was preceded in death by daughter Rebecca Susan.

A memorial service will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 9:30 A.M. Reverend Tim May will officiate.

Interment will be private.
