Yinghui Hsia, 55, of Frederick, Maryland, moved on from this life on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD. Her husband, Rob, was by her side, holding her hand, letting her know that she was surrounded by love.
Born on December 14, 1969, in Taipei, Taiwan, Yinghui was the first of four children born to Yu-Chi Chen and the late Yueh Hsia. She excelled academically early on and won a nationwide art contest before leaving grade school. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Taiwan’s National Central University, Yinghui came to the US 30 years ago to earn a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at Ohio State. In 2007, she proudly became a US citizen.
Focused on securing financial security for herself, while always looking out for her family in Taiwan, she went into technology, moving multiple times and working in many industries. Everywhere she went, she kept learning and growing while sharing her wonderful laugh and humor with all she met. More importantly, she touched many lives with her strong intellect and generous heart building a family of friends here in the States.
She ran marathons and played the violin in Minnesota and enjoyed fencing in Boston. One thing she always enjoyed, regardless of location, was finding gifts for her friends and family, often months ahead of time, hoping to surprise them on their special days. Her generosity extended beyond her friends and family, helping many charitable causes throughout her life.
Recently, Yinghui focused on her long dormant artistic skills and started designing beautiful and funny cards for her Etsy shops. And LEGOs, lots of LEGOs!
There was nothing she could not learn and nothing she would not do for those close to her. Her strong will, positive outlook and determination kept her pushing forward all her life.
In addition to her husband and their dog, Silver, Yinghui is survived by those still in Taiwan; her mother, Yu-Chi Chen; two sisters; and a brother. Her loving husband, Rob O'Neil, will cherish the time they shared and the deep bond they forged traveling and going on adventures - big and small.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
