Wyand Grove "Moody" Rohrer, age 95, of 19800 Tranquility Circle, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 17, 1913 in Gapland, MD, he was a son of the late Jacob Moody and Charlotte Genevieve Grove Rohrer.
He had been employed for 25 years with Town and Country Foodland in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he had been a board member, church treasurer and sang on the choir.
He was a member of Keedysville Ruritan Club and Rohrersville Band.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Virginia Peyton Rohrer, whom he married on April 27, 1940; three nieces, one nephew, one great-niece, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by one brother, D. Arthur Rohrer, and three sisters in their youth, Barbara E.M. Rohrer, Julia G. Rohrer and Katherine M. Rohrer.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Friends may call any time Monday from 10 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
