Mr. Woodrow W. Adams, Jr., 70, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, After a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was the loving husband of Constance Adams for 48 years.
Born June 12, 1947 in Olney, MD he was the son of the late Woodrow W., Sr. and Myrtle E. (Mathias) Adams.
Woody served in the US Army Reserve 11th Special Forces, co-owner of Kluse Cycles in Gaithersburg, owner of Adams General Hauling which later became WWAdams Enterprises Inc. He loved driving trucks. His hobbies including riding horses (team penning and sorting), riding his Harley and semi truck sled pulling competition. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Thurmont, he loved singing on the Praise Team. Woody loved The Lord and sharing about his faith.
In addition to his wife he is survived by sister Betsy Stabler (Robert) his son Woodrow W Adams III "Buster" (Pamela). Grandchildren Aaron (Jana), Grace, Mary, Daniel. Stepgrandchildren Sarah (Troy), Joseph, Thomas. Step great granddaughter Aubree and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Tuesday,September 19, 2017 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 20 at 11AM at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1402 N. Main St., Mt. Airy, MD. Pastor Barry Whitworth will officiate.
Interment will follow at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.
