Wiltrud Auguste (Troibner) Haid, 89, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the home of her daughter.
Born on January 16, 1929, in Bad Neustadt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Regina (Frank) Troibner. Her husband of 63 years, at the time of his passing, Lothar G. Haid, preceded her in death on October 21, 2015.
She and her husband, Lothar, moved to America from Germany in 1956. Originally from Long Island, New York, Trudy moved to Waynesboro, Pennsylvania in 1994 until 1999 when they moved to Boonsboro. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and sew. Trudy was famous for her brownies. She was a wonderful mother who always looked out for those she loved.
Trudy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Halfway but also attended St. James Catholic Church in Boonsboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra G. Pizarro and husband, Christian, of Boonsboro; her son, Patrick O. Haid and wife, Lauri, of Savage, MN; sister-in-law, Luitgard Hetlyn of New York; five grandchildren, Alexander, Samantha and Anastasia Pizarro and Danielle and Aaron Haid; six great-grandchildren, including her newest great-granddaughter, Eliza, who, from the moment was born, stole her heart.
Trudy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rachel Haid; and her sister, Gisela Troibner.
A celebration of Wiltrud's life journey will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. John J. Jicha will officiate. Burial will follow in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
