Mr. Wilmer Ray Beachy, 81, of New Market died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Beatrice Beachy. They were married for 45 years.
Born May 30, 1935 in Biddinger, MD, he was the son of the late Herbert and Anna Myrtle (O'Haver) Beachy.
Wilmer was a truck driver from the age of 16 until a few months prior to his death when his health prevented him from doing so. He worked at Mack Truck in Hagerstown for many years and, most recently, for Trout's Lighthouse Seafood. He received numerous safe driver awards throughout his career.
Wilmer loved camping and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; David R. Beachy and wife Brenda of Johnsville, Bobby Cutsail and wife Yvette of Mt. Airy, and Tammy Himes, and husband Kevin of Baltimore; 12 grandchildren; Christopher Beachy and wife Jordyn, Katelyn Molnar and husband Michael, Shane Beachy and girlfriend Angela Scardapane, John Stewart, Davis Crouse and girlfriend Ellie Hargett, Tiffany Cutsail, Kelly Willis and husband Mark, Allison Cutsail, Jeffrey Hudson and fiancée Brittany Welsh, Brian Hudson, Shawn Hudson, and Kevin Himes Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren, Camryn and Cooper Beachy, Adrianna Stewart, Paisley Hudson, Josie and Gabe Welsh, and Cohen Willis.
Additionally, he is survived by siblings; Herbert J. Beachy, and wife Frances of Baltimore, Eugene Oliver Beachy and wife Dolly of Cooksville, TN, Richard Beachy and wife Betty of Westminster, Milton Joseph Myers and wife Linda of Baltimore; and Lois Virginia Kolb and husband Gurney of Accident, MD; and a sister-in-law Barbara Beachy of Delaware.
He will be remembered by special friends, George and Polly Cutsail, Gus and Pam Kerver, and Steve Trout.
Wilmer was predeceased by siblings, David Luther Beachy, Anna Myrtle Renner, and Edward L. Beachy.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where a funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Ernie Knight.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
