Wilmer Hunsecker

Wilmer Adin Hunsecker, 93, of Walkersville, MD, was born July 22, 1919, Chambersburg, PA, and died Saturday, March 30, 2013 following a stroke. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy (Lehman) Hunsecker; three daughters (Phyllis, wife of Kenneth Strite, North Lima, OH; Linda, Walkersville,MD; and Carol Ann, wife of James Herr, Lancaster, PA), 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and his brothers, Mervin, Charles and Richard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Hunsecker and a brother, Harold.
He was ordained to the ministry September, 1953, and was involved with church plantings in Montgomery Co., MD, with the majority of years at Dawsonville Mennonite Church. He worked for the Montgomery Co. Board of Education. He enjoyed reading and studying his Bible, traveling, backyard bird watching, preaching, teaching Sunday School, spending time with his family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, knotting comforters for Mennonite Central Committee and caning chairs.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 13 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Parish Center, 8156 Biggs Ford Road, Room 103, Walkersville, MD, and on Sunday, Aril 14, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m., also at the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, Chambersburg, PA.
Contributions in Wilmer's memory may be sent to a charity of your choice. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family .
