William Curtis Gooding

Mr. William Curtis Gooding, 70, of Mt. Airy died on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Helen Evelyn Grimes Gooding his wife of 49 years.

Born on August 14, 1936 in Kensington, he was the son of the late Preston Forrest Gooding, Sr. and Alice Virginia Curtis Gooding. Mr. Gooding was a customer service manager for a wine importer/wholesaler in Washington, DC.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children; Beth Bowen (Dan) of Laurel, Thomas Gooding (Nealy) of Monrovia and David Gooding (Laura) of New Market; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Cox, Megan Bowen and Brooke Gooding; 2 sisters, Patricia Schmitz of Mt. Airy and Virginia Hammett (Arthur) of Prince Frederick, and a brother, Gerald Gooding. Mr. Gooding was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy O'Hare and a brother, Preston F. Gooding, Jr.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy with Rev. Wallace Lusk of Locust Grove Church of the Brethern, Mt. Airy, officiating. Interment will be private.
