William {Bill} Howard Spahr

William Bill Howard Spahr, 85 of Rocky Ridge, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 13th at his home. He was the husband of 63 years to Leila M. Pheil Spahr.

Born on January 12, 1925 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Leona Katherine (Schrader) and William Frederick Spahr.

Bill served in the United States Navy during WW II obtaining the rank of Gunners Mate. After the war he went on to trade school where he specialized in refrigeration.

Bill was an accomplished Master Plumber, Master Electrician, obtained his Boilers License, Steam Fitters License and HVAC License. He worked for over 39 years at Bio Whittaker retiring in 2000.

Besides his wife Leila, he is survived by his children; William K. Spahr and wife Sandra of Thurmont, Alan B. Spahr and wife Laure, and Robin R. Spahr and wife Beverly all of Rocky Ridge; his eight loving grandchildren, Heidi, Jerri, Kelle, Gabrielle, Amber, Sean, Ian, and Aran; and several great grandchildren.

Bill was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon L. Miles and Teliah C. Spahr, and a grandson, William Daniel Spahr.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, MD.

Services: Interment will be private and there will be no services.
