William "Bill" Siler, Sr.

Mr. William Everett (Bill) Siler, Sr., 70, of Boonsboro died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Betty Siler. They were married nearly 50 years.

Born August 14, 1947 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Robert Alexander Siler and Ida Susan (Butler) Siler.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching Western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne. Times spent with his family were most important to him.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived two sons, William Everett Siler, Jr., and wife, Tessa, of Bakersville; and James Allen Siler, and wife, Danielle, of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, William Everett Siler, III "Goober" and wife, Becky; Amber Marie Siler Reese and husband, Johnny; Skylar Marie Siler, and Mason Alexander Siler; five great-granddaughters, Jenna, Adalyn, and Julianna Paige Reese; Sophie Lynn and Bella Marie Siler; a brother, George Siler and wife, Pat, of Williamsport; a sister, Anna Marie Barrett and husband, Granville, and a brother Raymond and wife Nancy, all of Martinsburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a son, David Alexander Siler; and two sisters, Jean Lorainne McDonald, and Joan Pauline McCauley.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13 from the funeral home with Rev. Darrell Layman officiating.

Interment will follow in Bakersville Lutheran Cemetery.
