William (Bill) Hunter Reams, of Keedysville, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center.
He was a long time resident of Washington County, Maryland. Bill graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1957.
He was the husband of Gail Lynn Cowell Reams, his wife of 44 years.
Born West Palm Beach, Florida, he was the son of the late Bernadine Agnes Green Reams and the late Samuel Hunter Reams.
Bill attended Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland, College Park, where he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1962.
Bill worked as a civilian at the Naval Surface Weapons Center in Montgomery County, Maryland for the first 18 years of his career where he obtained 8 patents. The second 18 years of his career were spent at Fort Detrick, USAMMDA in Frederick, Maryland. He retired October 17, 1998.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Billie Jo Rowland and husband Derrell R. Rowland of Falling Waters, WV and Viki Lynn Wade and husband Phillip A. Wade of Tomball, Texas; five grandchildren, Austin R. Rowland, Tristan R. Rowland, Ethan H. Wade, Emma P. Wade, and Parker H. Wade. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Patty Reams Skinner and husband Myers (Sonny) Skinner of Goldsboro, Maryland.
The family is having a private remembrance of Bill’s life at the home site of 19120 Geeting Road, Keedysville, MD 21756.
