William "Bill" Hortman

Mr. William "Bill" D. Hortman, 91, of Brunswick, MD passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Tranquility Assisted Living. He was the beloved Husband of Patricia "Pat" Hortman for 66 years who preceded him in death in September 2012.
Born December 19, 1923 in GA he was the son of the late Willie E. and Virilla Spillers Hortman.
Mr. Hortman was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Brunswick. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 96, Loyal Order of the Moose #1582 and Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1136. Bill was also an avid Orioles fan and Redskins fan. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching old Western movies.
He is survived by his daughter Joyce Oland (Arthur)Statesville, NC; three grandsons Zachary L. Oland (Heather) of Statesville, NC, Nils T. Oland of Statesville, NC and Quinn J. Oland of Arlington, VA; 2 great-grandchildren Teagan and Kyle Oland; numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by a large circle of his friends and neighbors that he considered to be family.
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.
There will be service on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11AM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick. Pastor Linda Fernandez will officiate.
Interment will be private.
