Mr. William Francis "Bill" Zavona 77, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. He was the husband of Barbara Haines Zavona, his wife of 52 years.
Born on October 8, 1937, in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John J. and Valeria Batis Zavona. William worked as an oil delivery truck driver for several local companies and later for the Frederick Trading Company. Bill enjoyed collecting model cars and trucks, working around the house and in his yard, and in his younger days to go hunting and fishing; but most of all he took great pride in keeping his vehicles, lawn equipment, tools and yard in excellent condition. He will be greatly missed!
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Tracey A. Zavona of Frederick, a brother-in-law, Stephen C. Haines and wife Susan of Hagerstown as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Friday, April 3, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, with Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating. Interment will take place in Taylorsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
