William Francis Spicer

October 5, 1953 — January 18, 2025

William “Bill” Francis Spicer was born on October 5, 1953, in Oswego, NY, and passed away on January 18, 2025, in Baltimore, MD. His life was marked by kindness, integrity, and dedication to those around him. 

Bill graduated from Mexico High School in Mexico, NY, and attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, where he played on the football team. 

Throughout his professional life, Bill worked as an assembler at The Raymond Corporation in Greene, NY and at Universal Instruments Corporation in Conklin, NY. He later served as a manager at Xtra Mart in Afton and Greene, NY, and most recently worked at Food Lion in Frederick, MD. 

Many remember him fondly as the owner and operator of Four Seasons Ice Cream in Greene, NY, where people came to hang out and make memories.

Bill was a member of the Greene United Methodist Church where he served as a youth group leader. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and a youth softball coach and team sponsor.

He loved the Miami Dolphins, dancing, dogs, being by the water, and being both Dad and Papa.

Bill is pre-deceased by his parents, James and Clellia (Potter) Spicer and brother Clair “Hoss” Spicer.

Bill is survived by his daughters Jessica Spicer and Olivia Darrell (Michael), granddaughters Karissa, Amaya, and Isla Darrell, aunt Jeanette Spicer, niece Carrie Pearson, nephews James Spicer, and Todd, Adam, and Derek Richards. He also leaves behind many cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on March 22, 2025, at First United Methodist Church of Greene, 32 South Chenango Street, Greene, NY.

Bill’s family is grateful for the care he received from staff at the Weinberg Building at The Johns Hopkins Medical Campus.

Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
