William Patrick Goodrich , 95 , of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his residence.
Born on June 24, 1918, in Olyphant Pennsylvannia, he was the son of the late Paul Pius and Annastasia (McNally) Goodrich. William was preceded in death by his wife, June Adele (Wilhide) Goodrich in 1972.
During his career he worked as a supply sergeant for the Civil Conservation Corps. William worked as a Master Electrician for Maryland Equipment Company of Hagerstown, Western Maryland Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, Miller-Lesky Electric Co. of Hagerstown, Fairchild Aviation in Hagerstown, Pangborn Corperation in Hagerstown, and East Alcoa Aluminum in Buckeystown, Maryland.
William was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Hagerstown Power Squadron, Hagerstown Elks Club, Keedysville Ruritan Club, NRA, AFL-CIO, Fairchild Old Timers Club, and Sons of Italy.
He is survived by his sons Patrick Goodrich and wife, Patricia of Hagerstown, Michael Francis Goodrich of Myersville, Maryland, Paul Pius Goodrich of Keedysville; daughters Mary L. Hellane and husband, Joseph of Hagerstown, Susan Adele Shelly and husband, Kim of Hagerstown; sister Mary Gywn and husband, Billy of Dickson City, Pennsylvania; and by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Father Greg Ferri will officiate.
Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday evening, October 18, 2013 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.
Memorial donations may be made to Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and to the Keedysville Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 202, Keedysville, Maryland.
