William Nusbaum, Jr.

William H. Nusbaum, Jr., 86, of Mt. Pleasant, Maryland died Monday, April 25, 2016 at The Glade Valley Center, Walkersville.

Born April 5, 1930, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late William and Virgie Nusbaum.  He was the beloved husband of Mary Nusbaum for 59 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Major Dale Nusbaum, retired USAF, and by his sister, Catherine Flora.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary; his son Randy Nusbaum and wife Valerie of Thurmont; his grandson Andrew Nusbaum and wife Stephanie of Lynn Haven, FL; his granddaughter Christine Nusbaum and fiancé Matt Mason of Panama City, FL; his great-granddaughters Clara Nusbaum and Daelyn Mason both of FL.  He is also remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews and special friends.

Bill graduated Frederick High School in 1947. He was proud to be a Korean War veteran serving as a Staff Sargent in the USAF until 1954 as a member of the 117th Bomb Squadron at Langley, AFB.  He worked for East Coast Telecommunications at Fort Detrick until retirement.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family throughout his life.  He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and he enjoyed having lunch with friends at the American Legion.  Bill was a lifetime member of the NRA.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
