William Myers

Mr. William "Bill" Charles Myers, 77, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed
away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of
Joyce Parker Myers, his wife of 25 years.

Born July 6, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late
William Charles, Sr. and Dorothy Miller Myers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Leslie
Bronstein, husband Hal and granddaughter Andie Bronstein of Baltimore,
his step-children Karen, Jack, and Scott Thon, a brother Gerald Myers
and wife Sandy, and two nephews Craig and Scott Myers and a niece
Laurie Myers. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter Susan Thon.

Bill served his Country in the U. S. Navy as a young man.  He owned a
mechanical insulation company until he retired in 2001.  He was a
member of the Acacia Lodge
#155 Masonic Lodge in Thurmont. Throughout his life he raised, trained
and showed Quarter Horses and was a member of the American Quarter
Horse Association and several state affiliated AQHA organizations. He
loved music and played the trumpet professionally both as a young man
and again after his retirement.  He was a past member of the Olney Big
Band and the FCC Jazz Ensemble.  In 2008 he had the opportunity to
tour Europe with the Columbia Jazz Band and the Olney Big Band.
Another one of his favorite things was riding his Harley Davidson with
his friends.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E.
Main Street, Thurmont, Maryland, Monday, December 2, from 2-4 and 7-9
pm, where service will be held Tuesday, December 3, at 11:00 am with
Rev. Tim May officiating.
