William Moriarty

William E. Moriarty, of Glenwood, MD, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Montgomery General Hospital. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Mary Moriarty, his grandfather, Earl Moorman, his Aunt Kathy Moriarty, his uncle Jim Hoenigman, his uncle Gerry Moorman, and his cousin April Moorman. Bill is survived by his loving parents John and Kathy Moriarty, sister Mary Eileen and brother Michael; grandmother Eileen Moorman, uncle Tom Moorman, aunts Christine Tanner, Peg Hoenigman, Jodi Moorman, MaryBeth (Carl) Ashcraft, Margaret Shapland and Maria (Gordon) Dickens, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and special MDA friends. Bill earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2006. He was an avid Auburn Tigers football fan. He loved his dogs, Chloe and Lady. Bill enjoyed bird watching, Harry Potter, and videogames. Bill will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, especially his many friends from the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, February 26, 2011, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael’s Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771, with Fr. Michael Ruane officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-8, Friday, February 25, 2011, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 8501 LaSalle Rd., Towson, MD 21286.
