William R. LeStrange, 94, passed away on Oct 23, 2018. Born September 17, 1924 in New York City, he was the son of the late Anna and William M. LeStrange.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Mary C. LeStrange; son Timothy M. LeStrange, and brother Geo. Kenneth LeStrange.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol M. LeStrange and children, Susan M. McGuire, William R. (Catherine) LeStrange, Jr., Kevin J. LeStrange, Stephen D. LeStrange, Beth Ann (Richard) Costantino, Patrick B. LeStrange, Denise K. (Michael) Estep and Linda J. (Barry) Payne. He is also survived by his daughters-in- law; Victoria C. LeStrange, Josie LeStrange, and Mariann Wilson, plus 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Bill was a member of The National Timberwolf Association-104th Infantry Division and was very proud to have served his country from 1943-1945 during World War II, spending the majority of his time as a radio maintenance man in France, Belgium, and Germany.
He made his career in the insurance industry and he retired as President of AVEMCO Insurance Brokerage, Inc. in 1989.
According to his wishes, Bill will be laid to rest in a National Veteran's Cemetery. Services will be private at Stauffer Funeral Home.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Montevue Assisted Living for their excellent and loving care during Bill's residency; also Hospice of Frederick County for their compassionate support.
