William Geisbert

July 26, 1930 — December 24, 2014

Mr. William C. (Bill) Geisbert, 84,  of Crestwood Village, Frederick, passed on to his eternal home on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2014.

Born on July 26, 1930, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Clara (Reed) Geisbert.  He was the husband of Ruthanna (Lewis) Geisbert, his wife of 58  years.

Bill was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren, having previously served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Board, a member of the Morning Singers, Sunday School Teacher, and presently teaching in BYDANHO and Christ Quest classes. He  was a Gideon in the East Camp of Frederick, a Navy Korean War Veteran and retired as Chief, Building Engineers, USAMRIID,  Fort Detrick.  He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 142 and the American Legion.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his  family and friends, acrylic painting, and Indian Artifacts.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Thomas W. Geisbert and wife, Joan, of Albany, Texas; two grandsons, Todd and Torey Geisbert; and many nieces  and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Mathias and Mary Ann  Jones.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at the Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Avenue, Frederick, MD 21701.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 3215, Frederick, Maryland 21705-3215 or Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, Maryland 21702.
