William Frank “Bo” Gates, 52, of Keedysville, MD, passed away on Monday, April 22nd, 2013 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD after a brief illness. “Bo” was the loving, devoted husband and friend of Charlotte L. Gates, of Keedysville, MD.
Born on November 6th, 1960, in Bluefield, WV, he was the son of Frank M. Gates and the late Ruby Ilene Gates of Frederick, MD.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, lodge #1067 and the Frederick Redman’s #19.
In addition to his wife and father, Bo is survived by a son, Jason F. Gates and fiancé Erin of Bethesda, MD; a brother, Mike “Butch” Gates, and sister Michelle “Missey” Gates, both of Frederick, MD; stepsons, Dean H. McMillion and wife Kim of Keedysville, MD and Oscar “Peanut” McMillion and fiancé’ Charlene Sentelle of Hagerstown, MD; nephew Michael “MJ” Gates and wife Stephanie of Wheeling, WV; great nephew, Grayson Gates of Wheeling, WV; step grandchildren, Marshall  McMillion, active duty Marine, Hunter  McMillion of Keedysville, MD, Cassie McClure of PA; step great grandchild Shaylee Renea McClure of Keedysville, MD; brother-in-laws Johnny Swecker and wife Brenda “Tweet”of Damascus, MD, Jay Swecker of Brunswick, MD, Odell Swecker and Jimmy Swecker and wife Fay of TN, and sister-in-law Tiny Teran of Hagerstown, MD. Bo is also survived by his dachshund, Ruby. Bo had many friends and co-workers at the City of Rockville that he enjoyed working with.
Bo loved the outdoors, and hunting deer was one of his passions. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and horseshoes as well. He also loved taking rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 25, 2013 from 6-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Homes P. A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 26, 2013 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in True Gospel Cemetery, Lisbon, MD.
