Mr. William Joseph “Joe” Ferguson, 48, of Middletown went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 2, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Michelle Hazell Ferguson.
Joe was born on October 1, 1961 in Bolivia, North Carolina and was the son of the late Carl Ferguson and Helen Cassell Esque of Hopewell, Virginia.
Joe was employed at Frederick Memorial Hospital and previously owned his own painting business for over 20 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Knoxville where he enjoyed coaching Upward basketball. Joe adored children, assisting and giving to others.
Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife, mother and four adoring children; Cindy Lynn Puckett and husband James of Texas, Robert Ray Ferguson of Texas and C.J. and Josh Ferguson of Middletown; one brother Carl Ferguson of Boonsboro; mother in law Patricia “Pat” Hazell of Middletown; sister in law Kimberly Hazell of Middletown; brother in law Michael Hazell and wife Rachael of Fairplay, MD; and grandchildren Cody Puckett and Lillyann Rose Ferguson and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by a beloved son William Ferguson, his niece Ashley Hazell and his father in law Ronald C. Hazell.
The family will accept visitors from 2-4 & 6-9pm on Tuesday July 6, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick and from 10-11 at Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 7, at the Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD. Interment will follow in Middletown Reformed Cemetery, Middletown.
