Mr. William “Ed” Myers, 75, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was the husband of Victoria Gifford Myers, his best friend and wife of 22 years.
Born August 19, 1938 in Rockville, he was the son of John C. and Ruby D. Hash Myers.
Mr. Myers was a member of Frederick Christian Fellowship Church. He served his country in the U. S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #86. Ed retired, after 38 years of service, from the U.S. Post Office, receiving many commendations throughout his career. He was an avid golfer and loyal sports fan (baseball and football). Ed loved spending time with his family and walking his dog “Teddy”. He was very witty and enjoyed making a “pun” every chance he got.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Kevin Edward Myers and wife Betsy of Ocean City, MD., Scott Christopher Myers and wife Cheri of Phoenix, AZ, Debbi Tehrani and husband Farzad of Frederick and Dawn Drury and husband Daniel of Harpers Ferry, WV, grandchildren Brandon, Lauren, Caden, Kevin Trey, Ashton, Christian, Cameron, Mikayla, Braedon and Brent Myers, Shane and Christian Drury, a brother John C. Myers of Kent Island, MD and his mother-in-law Margaret Colley. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Myers.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, January 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 4, at Frederick Christian Fellowship Church, 10142 Hansonville Road, Frederick, MD.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
