Mr. William Royall Duffy, 85, of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Arlene Smith Duffy.
Born in Newbern, NC, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Duffy, Jr. and Frances Royall Duffy.
Mr. Duffy proudly served his country in the United States Army. William was the owner and operator of Duffy & Associates where he was Art Director and Graphic Designer for 30 years. Mr. Duffy was a devout Christian and attended The Frederick Church of Christ. He loved jazz music and dancing, fishing, photography and enjoyed volunteering. William lead a singing group for several years at Country Meadows Retirement Community and enjoyed organizing social events for the elderly.
He is survived by his children Dayle Duffy-Cavaliere and husband Michael of Mt. Airy, Daniel Lee Duffy of Wheaton, Arlene Patrice Duffy of Columbia and Sherrie Duffy Clark and husband Steven of Union Bridge; grandchildren Erin Inman and husband Chris of Westminster, Carly Goins and husband Jason of Emmitsburg, Melanie Clark Metzbower and husband Chris of New Windsor, Matthew and Paige Cavaliere of Mt. Airy; great-grandchildren Kaeleigh and Brooke Inman of Westminster and Claire and Shane Goins of Emmitsburg.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert L. Duffy.
A memorial service will be held at the Frederick Church of Christ, 1305 N. Market St., Frederick, MD on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11AM.
Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
