On 7 December 2019 William R. Dodd, known as “Curly” to his family and close friends and as “Bill” by the rest of the world, was graciously called home by his Savior, Yahushua. Bill was transformed from his pain filled body and is in his Father’s presence for the rest of eternity.
Bill was the Son of the late Ernest and Jeanette Thompson Dodd born in Washington, DC on Feb. 9, 1938. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years Sandra L. Dodd, along with his four adult children Tammie Gandy of Chatham, VA, Beverly Dodd of Martinsburg, WV, Robert Dodd of Martinsburg, WV and Jonathan Dodd of Winchester, VA); his four grandchildren Brandon Gandy, Jessica Thomas, Kevin Gandy, and Stephanie Dodd; four great grandchildren Quinton, Ridley, Lukas, and Sydney; his brother Donald Dodd of Waynesboro, VA; his nephew Donald Dodd of Waynesboro, VA; his three nieces Donna, Tina and Marie and his foster brother Clyde Crum of Thurmont, MD. Bill Dodd was known as a skilled carpenter, an avid amateur photographer, an outspoken and unapologetic Believer in the one true God (Yahweh) as well as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
As a family we know that Yahweh’s timing is perfect. He took Bill to be with Him before the COVID-19 madness and other national turmoil began. While we miss him every day we are grateful that he is not here during this time in history.
This obituary for Bill Dodd will eventually include a video made by him to his wife (Sandy). This video was played at his funeral service and speaks to the love and concerns in his heart for his family and friends. We will also include a video with the song he listened to many times a day during his last days.
