William Richard Davis, Jr.

William Richard Davis Jr., 91, of Damascus, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Holy Cross Hospital in Germantown.
He was the husband of Dorothy Porter Davis for more than 50 years.

Born on October 4, 1931, in Montgomery Co., he was the son of the late William Richard Davis, Sr. and Jessie I. Watkins Davis.
He was a graduate of Damascus High School. Dick employed by Summit Hall Turf Farm and was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed quality time with family as well as hanging out with friends at Roy Rogers, meeting for fellowship, food and coffee. Dick loved meals with family and friends at Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Roy Rogers and McDonalds. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching hummingbirds, squirrels and chipmunks, and waving to people driving by.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: Ricky Davis of Frederick and, Randy Davis and wife Debbie of Walkersville; his grandchildren: Joshua Davis (Jessica), Jeremiah Davis, Leslie Ingram (Rick), Christina Davis (Larry), Michelle Schiller (Paul), Lindsay Davis (Sidney), Gabrielle Davis and Madison Davis; great grandchildren: Elise, Everett, Oliver, Kadie, Farrah, Sidney, Zachary and Suri; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by a special friend, John Hoffman. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Thursday, June 8, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. where  a celebration of William's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 9. Pastor Jerry Beall will officiate.  Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in  Mount Airy.
