William Eugene Anderson passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
William was born in 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of nineteen he met his soon to be wife, Gay, at the University of Minnesota. He went on to earn his Doctorate Degree in Physics at the University of MIssouri at Rolla. He was employed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology for forty years where he worked in a variety of positions including Director of the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Laboratory. He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed spending time with his colleagues and friends while engaging in his favorite past time.
He is survived by his wife Gay Anderson; his two daughters Rebecca Martin and Amy Anderson; his sister Nancy Chappie and his grandson Jace Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marcella Baxter and Loren Anderson.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 9:30AM-10:30AM where a funeral service will begin at 10:30AM. Pastors Mary Ellen Geeslin and Chris Geeslin will officiate.
