Wendy Sue Crutchley passed away peacefully April 1, 2025 with family by her side at Citizens Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late C. Thomas Crutchley.
Born January 30, 1957 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Thomas Geiser and the late Janet Geiser.
In addition to her father, she is survived by sister, Julie Darr, very special niece and nephew, Jacob Darr and wife Kristen, Elizabeth Philleo and husband Kyle; great niece, Evelyn Philleo, who was the apple of her eye; and her step-son, Travis Crutchley.
In addition to her husband and mother she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Geiser.
In the early days, she loved 10 pin bowling, and was always among the high average group in the Ladies League. Wendy and some of her bowling friends traveled to many places in the U.S. to bowl in tournaments. She also played some golf, and on her honeymoon in Jamaica she had a hole in one. Later on she spent many weekends at Drury’s Marina in Ridge, MD, fishing with Tommy, Michael and many close friends.
Wendy worked for the family business, Geiser Distributing Inc., as the Office Manager, bookkeeper, forklift operator, plus so many other things in the daily operations of the business.
She was a member of the Amvets Post 2 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 11 Auxiliary.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Wendy's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 from the funeral home chapel.
