Wayne Charles McGlone, 53, of Mt. Airy, MD, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on April 3, 2012. He was a loving husband of Irene McGlone, his wife of 19 years, and a devoted father of Gabriella McGlone, 11.
Born August 19, 1958 in Baltimore, he was the son of Eileen Byrd Hill and step-father, Lundy Hill, and the late Watt Hillman McGlone.
Wayne was involved in football throughout high school. He served in the Air Force. Later on, he was a proud Narcotics Agent for the Baltimore City Police. Wayne went on to work in the car business for more than 15 years, 11 of which were with Ford Motor Company. In 2004, Wayne graduated with honors when he earned his MBA from Davenport University in Michigan. Most recently, Wayne served as the Area Director for Sport Clips in Maryland. His hard work ethic and dedication has shown through with the 25 stores he has opened. Wayne was a diehard Ravens fan, but valued spending time with his family the most.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Masera McGlone; his daughter, Gabriella McGlone; brothers, Timothy McGlone of Delaware and Scott McGlone of Baltimore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph McGlone.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy on Monday, April 9 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michaels Road, Poplar Springs, MD with Father Michael Ruane as Celebrant.
