Mr. Wayne Carol Hill, 67, of Frederick passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Ann Root Hill.
Born May 11, 1946 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Stanley and Rebecca Hill.
Wayne retired after 30 years as a carrier and in later years as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Rockville. He loved spending time with his family and traveling to the beach and was also an avid car enthusiast. In younger years, he enjoyed fishing and racing cars at 75-80 dragway. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, warmth and generosity. He never met a stranger he didn't befriend.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Brady Hill (Nikki), and Brent Hill (Jenifer) and Bryan Hill (Miki); six grandchildren, Kayla, Evelyn, Gavin, Taryn, Cody and Ayden; and two brothers-in-law, George W. Root and David B. Root.
He also will be remembered by his beloved dog, Chelsey.
Wayne was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn Louise Hill.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1811 Latham Place, Frederick, where Wayne was a long time member.
