Wayne D. Brown, 64, of 100 Stonegate Drive, Frederick, MD, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1949 in Frederick, to the late Boisy Davis, Jr. and Alice Brown Davis; paternal father, the late Calvin Lee and wife Viola.
He was the husband of Denise Davis-Brown for 21 years.
Wayne was the first graduating class of Thomas Johnson High School, in 1967, in Frederick.
Wayne served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged from the military in 1971.
He was employed by Essroc Cement Company, as a bulk loader for 35 years.
Wayne was a dedicated member of Sugarloaf Mt. C. C. Church of Dickerson, MD, where he served as trustee, sang on the Men’s choir and an avid worker in the church with his hands, building and repairing, he was a jack of all trades.
He loved his family, his church members, and helping others. He took great pride in caring for his home, working on puzzles and turning them into pictures for hanging, also wood working, ceramic, home building and gardening.
Surviving besides his wife, mother, and step mother, are 3 children, Catherine Champion (Virginia); James Faulkner (Hagerstown) and Annette Beale (Frederick).
Wayne was also survived by 12 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Sterling Brown (Ruby), Calvin Lee, Jr. (Nedra), and Bradford Lee; step brother, Byron Foreman (Marilyn); 4 sisters, Velma Davis-Hayes (Everette), Pastor Joan Hall (Reginald), step sisters, Tangela Bridgers (Liberty), and Trudy Lyles (Timothy). Wayne is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home (formerly Daily Funeral Home), 1201 N. Market Street, Frederick, with the Rev. Louise Malbon-Reddix and the Elder Janet Stubblefield officiating, Sugarloaf Mt. Church. The family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to service time.
Burial with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
