Warren Young

October 18, 1924 — January 14, 2017

Warren Eldridge Young, Sr., age 92 of Lorien-Taneytown, previously of Frederick, MD died on January 14, 2017.
He was the husband of Alma I. Keyser Young, his wife of 70 years.
Born on October 18. 1924 in Frederick County, Maryland, he was a son of the late Harry Ashby Young and Rosa Lee Snyder Young.
Warren was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Air Corp from 1941 to 1945 as a Top Turret Gunner Engineer.  He flew 31 combat missions in the European Theater and was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Theater Ribbon and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon.  He was also in the United States Air Force Reserves from 1945-1948.  He was proud to be a contributor to the book, "Battle over Bavaria".
Warren enjoyed outside work and continued to mow his lawn, remove his snow and tend to his tomato plants into his 90's.
He was retired from the Frederick Trading Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Nancy L.Young of Frederick, MD., a granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Young of Frederick, MD., and a daughter-in-law, Martha Hiltner Young of Woodsboro, MD.
Warren was predeceased by his son, Capt. Warren E. Young, Jr. U.S.A.F. and all of his brothers and sisters, Florence Stevens, Eva Stride, Harry Young, Jr., Harvey Young and Donald Young.
At Warren's request there will be no visitation or services.  Inurnment will be private.
