Mr. Ward Wayne (Baba) Brown, 59, of Frederick, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of Eletha Leigh Wiggins Brown, his wife of three years.
Born Oct. 12, 1950, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Rev. Luther and Ida Snowden Brown.
Ward was a member of Sugarloaf Mountain Community Church. He was a graduate of Thomas Johnson High School. He loved basketball and spending time with his family. Ward was a store manager for Variety Wholesalers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ward Brown of Connecticut, Nicholas A. Brown of Frederick and Courtney Russell of Maine; four grandchildren, Alexis, Ajia, Amaree and Angeline; his siblings, Mary Gordon and husband, Seaven, of Frederick, Franklin Brown and wife, Eugenia, of Walkersville, and Velma Weedon and husband, Herbert, Charles M. Brown and wife, Debbie, Kevin M. Brown, and Carlene Carr and husband, James, all of Frederick; and aunts Naomi Naylor and Alice Davis. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther and Floyd Brown; and a nephew, Luther Brown.
Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Services:
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, in the funeral home chapel, with Elder Joan Hall and Elder Jan Stubblefield officiating.
Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.
