Mrs. Wanda Marie Majernik, 45, of Mt. Airy died on Thursday, February 1, at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC. She was the wife of David M. Majernik, her husband of more than 20 years.
Born on May 10, 1961, in Rosedale, MD she was the daughter of Martha Bennett Bekkely of Rosedale and the late Magnus Bekkely. She was an electrical engineer working for a contractor serving the U.S. Government. Mrs. Majernik was a graduate of Capitol College and Johns Hopkins University. She was and assistant Girl Scout Leader and was very active in the activities of her children.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a daughter, Stephanie Majernik and a son, Kevin Majernik both at home; 2 sisters: Greta Gay and husband Tom of Joppa, MD and Sharon Lindner of Bel Air.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday, February 5, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy.
Services:
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 6, at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 710 N. Main St., Mt Airy with her pastor Dr. Michael L. Trammell officiating.
Interment will be private.
