Walter "Butch" Monroe Brown, III, 59, of Walkersville, Maryland, and previously of Smithsburg, Maryland, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, after an extended illness, at Golden Living Center in Frederick, Maryland, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 9, 1954, he is the son of Walter M. Brown, Jr. and the late Pauline (Glascock) Brown.
He was raised in Sykesville, Maryland, and graduated from South Carroll High School, class of 1972.
He retired from DOD, USAMDA, at Fort Detrick, where he was a skilled metal fabricator and welder.
Butch loved being with his family and friends, being a "handy man," and working on cars.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Jessica J. Anderson and husband, Evan, of State Line, Pennsylvania, and Lisa D. Camuti and husband, Kendall, whom Butch resided with, in Walkersville, Maryland; his six grandchildren, Ellie, Ean, Emma, and Elyse Anderson and Cameron and Chase Camuti, and one grandchild on the way, all of whom were his pride and joy; his three sisters, Terry Brown, Joyce Triplett and husband, Richard, and Brenda Patterson; and his brother, David Brown and wife, Elaine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; his former wife, Sharon Cunningham; and his best friend, Sam.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-and father-in-law, Harold and Katherine Culler, whom he cherished and was very close to.
A memorial service in memory of Butch will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville, Maryland 21793. His son-in-law, Evan Anderson, will officiate. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company Social Hall, 73 West Frederick St., Walkersville, MD 21793, for a time of fellowship and gathering.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home in Walkersville.
