Walter Yourishin

Walter R. Yourishin, 67, of Frederick, MD passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick.

Born March 14, 1948 in Hazelton, PA he was the son of the late George and Leona Yourishin.

Walter worked for 40 years with the United States Postal Service prior to his retirement. He was a graduate of Northwestern High School, Hyattsville, MD, Class of 1967. There he was a player on the 3A State Championship Basketball team his senior year. Walter was known for his storytelling, gift of gab, and enjoyed talking to his neighbors and members of the community. He loved going to his kids sporting events and touting their accomplishments. Walter also had many good times at the Charles Town Race Track.

He is survived by his children Christopher Yourishin and wife Jessica of Abbottstown, PA; Tracy Hitchcock and husband Dale of Martinsburg, WV; JoAnne Kramer and husband Chad of Knoxville, MD; Katherine Main and husband Ryan of Keedysville, MD; brother Michael Yourishin and wife Mary; sisters Terry Segaria and Patsy Carter; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer and brother, John.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave, Brunswick on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 2-4PM.

Interment will be Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10AM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD.

The family would like to extend an invitation  on Friday, October 30, to a Celebratory Dinner from 4-8PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 401 Central Ave., Brunswick, MD 21716.
