Mr. Walter H. Smead, 75, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away, Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Frederick, Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marguerite Demeza Smead.
Born April 7, 1937 in Quincy, MA, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Eleanor Smead.
Mr. Smead was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was the former owner of Video Den in Thurmont for 10 years and was currently employed at Wolf's Furniture in Frederick. Walter loved spending time with his family, especially vacationing with his granddaughters and also loved watching movies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Eugene"Gene" Smead of Thurmont and two granddaughters Emily Ann Smead and Abigail "Abbey" Smead.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Friday, May 18, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
