Wallace H. {Reds} Russell

Mr. Wallace H. Red's Russell, 87, of Frederick died on Sunday July 26, 2009 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Doris M. Russell to whom he was married for 64 years.

Born on July 16, 1922 in Durham , NC. He was the son of the late William and Vada Mangum Russell.

Mr. Russell was a decorated WWII U. S. Navy Veteran and served on the U.S.S. Intrepid. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Frederick were he sang in the church choir.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children Patricia Brill and husband George of Germantown and Ralph Russell and wife Marie of Frederick.
Grandchildren Lori Kroll, Russ Brill, Colleen Samuda, Chris Russell, Jeff Russell and Bobby Russell. Great grandchildren Stacie Brill, Jordan Brill, Victoria Kroll, Nicholas Kroll, Patrick Samuda, Riley Samuda and Lucien Russell. Sister Margaret O'Steen and brother Eddie Russell.

He was preceded in death by a sister Doris Keen.

Visitation: Friends may call on Wednesday July 29, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday July 30, 2009 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD.
The Reverend Jenny Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring. MD. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the Mt. Carmel U. M. Church, Building Fund, 9411 Baltimore Road, Frederick, MD, 21704.
