Wallace Comegys

Mr. Wallace L. Comegys, 79, of Frederick, died Monday, December 6, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. He was the husband of Virginia O. Comegys.
Born in Tacoma Park, MD on March 19, 1931; he was the son of the late Cornelius R. Comegys and Letha Comegys.
Mr. Comegys was retired from the U.S. Soldiers Home in Washington, DC. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member and treasurer for 42 years at the Amvets, Post 10, in Frederick.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Virginia O. Comegys; daughter, Nancy L. Conley; son-in-law Rev. Charles Conley, of Hedgesville, WV. He had one son , deseased, Larry O. Cline. Also, surviving are one brother, Eugene T. Comegys, of Frederick; sisters: Juanita Grimes of Hagerstown, MD; Arlene Hawkins, of Frederick, MD; and Rose M. Burgess of Marion, VA; three grandchildren: Kelley L. Klug of Hedgesville, WV; Mark D. Conley of Bunker Hill, WV; and Susan Cline of Frederick, MD; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Charles Conley officiating. Interment will be at the Hyattstown United Methodist Church, Hyattstown, MD.
There will also be a luncheon and memorial service after the funeral and interment at the Amvets, Post 10, 702 East South
Street, Frederick, MD.
