V. Virginia Ingram

November 26, 1925 — May 30, 2008

Viola Virginia "Jennie" Ecton Ingram, age 82, of 4606 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, MD, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at her home.

Born Nov. 26, 1925 in Antietam Furnace, MD, she was a daughter of the late Norman Lester and Nina Mae Eversole Ecton.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Granvil Everett Ingram Sr. on Feb. 19, 2005.

She was a homemaker.

Jennie was a member of Burnside Church of God.

She was a member of Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 Ladies Auxiliary in Boonsboro.

Jennie is survived by three daughters, Faye I. Waters and husband Ronny and Kathie A. Crampton and husband Elwood, all of Sharpsburg, and Rhoda V. Ingram of Dargan; two sons, Michael S. Ingram and wife Pearl of Kempner, Texas, and Granvil E. "GE" Ingram Jr. and wife Amy of Sharpsburg; three sisters, Isabel Fauble and Alice M. Drake, both of Hagerstown, and N. Lorraine Churchey of Sharpsburg; three brothers, Elmer T. Ecton of Funkstown, Atlee Ecton of Hagerstown and Roger Ecton of Sharpsburg; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cornelia A. Ingram, one son, Granvil L. Ingram, six brothers, twins Thomas and Leon Ecton, Harold Ecton, Richard Ecton, John Ecton and Sylvester Ecton, three foster sisters, Alta Boyer, Dorotha Witmer and Nellie McCoy, and one great-grandson, Daniel Stover Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday at Burnside Church of God near Sharpsburg. The Rev. Ernest Witmer will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, PA, in Boonsboro.
