Vivienne Champion

Vivienne Lois Champion, nee Bracken, died on Sunday, April 23rd, at the Kline Hospice House in Mount Airy, MD.

Born April 5, 1938, Vivienne grew up in Bloomfield, NJ with her sister Barbara. She was blessed with a wealth of friendships, from childhood onward, which gave her joy and comfort throughout her life. She married Bruce Dale Champion in 1963, and in 1967 moved with their two children to Berkeley Heights, NJ, where they would live for the next 30+ years.

Vivienne and her sister Barbara opened The Kitchen Place in Murray Hill Square in 1975, and they managed the business together for years. Upon retirement, Vivienne and Bruce moved to Frederick, MD, and have enjoyed making numerous new friends, and volunteering with the Worman's Mill Community Conservancy and other local organizations.

Vivienne is survived by her husband Bruce; daughter Melinda Champion and her husband Mark Simms of Haddonfield, NJ, and their children Cameron and Meredith; and son Stephen Champion and his wife Michele of Phoenix, MD, and their children Alexis and Bradley.

A memorial service will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Friday, April 28th, at 10:00am. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County.
