Mrs. Vivian B. Browning, 85, of Monrovia died on Tuesday December 23, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Mt. Airy. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Browning, Sr.

Born on July 23, 1923 in Browningsville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Rosa Lewis Barnes.

Mrs. Browning was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Kemptown where she was on numerous church committees, she was also a Sunday school teacher. She was a past president of the Womens Association at Browningsville, United Methodist Church. Vivian was a artist and had a love for music, she was a singer in a quartet called The Barnes Girls

She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution, Eastern Star Chapter 95- Mt. Airy and the Republican Womens Club. She was active in the Damascus Senior Center. Before her retirement she worked for the family business Browning Pools.

Surviving are two children Nancy Browning of Monrovia and Charles H. Browning Jr. and his wife Patricia of Woodbine. Grandchildren Belinda Pickett and husband Scott, Clifton Bennett and wife Stacey, Charles Browning III and his wife Kathleen, Duane Browning and wife Amy and Aaron Browning and wife Maria. Great Grandchildren Amber Pickett, Clifton Bennett Jr., Amelia Browning, Caroline Browning, Karrina Browning, Dean Browning, Sabrina Browning and Christian Browning. Two sisters Dorothy Burdette and Louise Duvall both of Damascus.

Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by a sister Mazie Rebert.

Visitation: Friends may call on Monday December 29, from 3-5 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy.

Services: Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday December 30 at 11:00am at the Providence United Methodist Church, 3735 Kemptown Church Road, Monrovia. The Reverend Donna L. Herritt will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
