Vivian L. Mercer Bingaman, 53, formerly of Hancock and Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the home of her daughter in Smithsburg, MD.
Born February 24, 1954 in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Larry Benjamin and Louise Myrtle Jackson Martin.
She graduated from Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, MD.
Vivian was employed by the B.P.O Elks Lodge 378 in Hagerstown as a waitress for 11 years.
She is survived by her husband, William E. "Bill" Bingaman of Hancock, MD, whom she married May 26, 2005; daughter, Christine M. and husband Thomas M. Palamar, Jr.; stepdaughter, Cassandra L. Poffenberger of Hustontown, PA; grandchildren, Alayna, Bryce and Cayden; step grandson, John; sisters, Deborah Bannon of Virginia Beach, VA, Kimberly Hale and Melissa Martin both of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Larry Martin, David Martin, Paul Martin, Steven Martin all of Baltimore; and special cousin, Janet Taylor and family of Virginia; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Susan Martin and Judy Martin and brothers, Tony Martin and Michael Martin.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Dale Bannon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
