Virginia Lee Dankmeyer
July 5, 1931 — February 28, 2009
Mrs. Virginia Lee Dankmeyer, 77, of Taney Village Apartments went home to be with the Lord . He came for her on February 28, 2009 after a short illness.
She was the wife of the late Clamore Wm. Dankmeyer Jr. who died on November 7, 2004.
Born July 5, 1931 in Baltimore, Virginia raised her children and made a life in Frederick County since the spring of 1967.
Virginia was an active resident in the Taney Village Apartments and loved her life there. She enjoyed making cards and flyers on her computer, dining with Lunch Bunch, calling Bingo on Friday nights, to name just a few of the many activities there she was a part of. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, computer games, newspaper crossword puzzles and especially traveling with her children. She had been to places that she never imagined she'd visit. She loved spending time with her children and their families.
Left to cherish her memory, are her devoted children, Norma Draper and husband Gene, Jesse Dankmeyer and wife MaryKaren , Jerry Dankmeyer and wife Teresa, Bill Dankmeyer and wife Victoria, Tom Dankmeyer, Kathy Mathsen and husband Rusty, Lucy Guggenheim and husband Steve and Jennifer Stull and husband Steve. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her 21 grandchildren , 16 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members. She will also be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many residents and especially her best friends, Jenny and Bill.
Mrs. Dankmeyer was preceded in death by a daughter Lee Dankmeyer.

Services: A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at her place of worship, New Beginnings, Church of the Nazarene, 12350 Jesse Smith Rd. Mt Airy, MD 21771 with Pastor Paul Buchanan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in memory of her to her church or Hospice of Frederick County, who so tenderly cared for Virginia at her home during her illness.
