Virginia Greenwood Scott of Park Place ll, Wormans Mill and formerly of Lewes, De, passed away September 7th, 2009 at Glade Valley Nursing Home in Walkersville, Md.
Virginia was born in Alexandria, Virginia December 15th, 1917 to Jones Point Lighthouse Keeper Benjamin Harrison Greenwood and his wife Anna Marie English.
Virginia was married to Paul Fordham Scott Sr for forty three wonderful years, in November 1945, until his death in 1988.
Virginia worked for the C&P Telephone Company in Washington, DC in the executive department prior to her marriage to Mr. Scott.
Virginia is survived by her three children and their families, Bonnie and Raymond Duhamel of RI, Leila and John Fahrner of Germantown, MD, and Paul F Scott Jr and Brenda Stevens Scott of New Market, MD.
Also surviving are grandchildren Phillip Duhamel, Nicole (Thomas) Remington, Shannon Scott (Mike) Stream, Paul F Scott 3rd, Kelly and Julie Fahrner, Cheryl Lee (Nicholas) Hill, Tina Lee (Brian) Fleece, Leo F. Hollar 3rd, seven great-grandchildren, Step-brothers Everett and Carl Greenwood and Step-sister Rebecca Howdershelt.
Virginia was a longtime Episcopalian and was a member of both All Saints Episcopal church in Frederick MD and St. Peter's in Lewes De.
Virginia's activities included teaching Sunday School, serving as an Altar Guild, volunteering at BeBee Hospital Lewes De, the Red Hat Society socials, traveling, gardening and of course visiting with family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Glade Valley for their loving care of Virginia during her stay there.
