Virginia Martin

Virginia M. (Winders) Martin , 91, of Beaver Creek, Maryland, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, November 22, 2013 at her place of residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Bob" W. Martin who passed February 12, 2012.

Born on June 16, 1922, in Beaver Creek, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Bryan and Elsie May (Martz) Winders. She was a graduate from Smithsburg High School. She worked as a Homemaker.

Virginia was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Her interests included her church, sewing, and most especially her family. She also had a keen interest in the family genealogy, and in local and general history.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Morgan and husband, Tom of Dundalk, Maryland and Carole Stoner and husband, Robert of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Chris and wife, Trudie, Ronnie Stoner and wife, Tina, and Colleen Morgan; and by three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Julia, and Zachary Stoner. Virginia is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen Winders along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by her two brothers Norwood and Dale Winders.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. Eric R. Moser will officiate. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Beaver Creek.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home.
