Violet Irene Neal

Mrs. Violet Irene Neal, 86, of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late James Claude Neal who died on April 26, 2000.

Born on September 1, 1922, in Frederick , she was the daughter of the late Annie Gertrude (Kolb) and Frank T. Murphy, Sr. She married her husband James on July 11, 1942.

Violet began working at the May Company in Baltimore, and later in her career worked for both Price Electric and American Optical, here in Frederick.

A life long member of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, she was a past member of the Jug Bridge Homemakers Club and the Rose Hill Garden Club.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the care Violet received from Frederick Memorial Hospital, Dr.'s Rausch and Aziz and everyone at Citizens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors include her son, Robert Bob B. Neal and wife Judy A. of Middletown; her grandson, Randy B. Neal of Middletown; a sister, Sally J. Ramsburg of Frederick; a brother, Frank T. Murphy, Jr. and wife Delores of Frederick; numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by her special BINGO friends.

Violet was also preceded in death by a brother, George F. Ray, Sr.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 until 9 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.

Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Elsa-beth Hilke officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
