Victoria Laryea

The sun rose on Victoria Laryea’s life on August 11, 1951 and set while she was peacefully asleep on October 15, 2022. She was born in Accra, Ghana, to parents, Mr. Abraham Laryea and Madam Nao­mi Odametey, both of blessed memory.

Her heart of gold was masked by her serious personality and if you didn’t know her well, you could easily be fooled by it. When she made a statement, there could be no objection. A no nonsense woman, she did not sugarcoat her words. She would just tell you what she wanted to say as it is, but all her words and ac­tions came from a place of love. 

Victoria enjoyed going to church. She loved singing hymns, watching movies, and her favorite shows. She often said the best time of her life was rais­ing her children.

Victoria moved to Fred­erick where she lived at Taney Village for 4 years. There, she enjoyed talking to her friends and sitting outside enjoying the outdoors and great weather. Before that, she lived in Montgomery County for 18 years, from when she moved to the U.S. from Ghana. Victo­ria pursued a career as a CNA and worked at Arden Court Assisted Living Fa­cility in Potomac Mary­land for 10 years.

She is survived by two daughters and one son Lily Ofosu, Bashi­ru Martey Bright-Col­ley, and Berikisu Marley Bright-Colley, and nine grandchildren Joseph Klubi and siblings, Anas­tasia Bright-Colley and siblings, and Ariel Nai and sister. She loved each and every one of them dearly. Victoria is also survived by her siblings Comfort Laryea and Siblings in the United States and Ghana.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Fu­neral Home 1621 Opos­sumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on November 4, 2022 from 5pm -7pm. Traditional Funeral at 20021 Aircraft Dr, Ger­mantown Md 20874.
